Job Description
The Position

Northern X-Treme Helicopters, Inc is looking for an experienced Type 2, A&P Certified Helicopter Mechanic to join our growing team for firefighting operations and beyond. This position will require seasonal travel to support CWN Fire contracts for the state of Oregon and CA. Emphasis will be given to candidates who have a minimum of 12 months experience working on Bell 205/UH-1 Series helicopters, however all eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. A good candidate should be detail oriented, possess strong communication skills, and must maintain a professional attitude and be courteous and respectful to all customers.

Northern X-Treme Helicopters, Inc was incorporated in 2017 and operates in the mountains of Northern California . Since our inception we have owned and operated a Bell UH-1 B Super-B helicopter. Our specialized helicopter service includes aerial fire support, heavy lift, aerial logging, construction, erosion control in mountainous terrain and remote service areas. It is our mission to work in a way that is environmentally friendly while providing safe and efficient aerial support.

 
Job Requirements
Required Skills/Experience
• Medium turbine helicopter maintenance experience.
• At least 24 months experience as an A&P mechanic maintaining helicopters.
• At least 1 full season of fire experience within the previous 3 years and/or at least 3 months of “field” experience maintaining a helicopter away from an operator’s principle base of operations.
• The ability to work independently and to communicate well with others.

Job Responsibilities
• Inspection and repair of helicopter and components
• Ability to perform 50hr Oil Change, Annual/100 HR, 300, 600 & 1200HR inspections as well as other scheduled and unscheduled maintenance items in remote field environments.
• Removal, re-installation and replacement of major components, Main and tail rotor track and balance, Component inspection, General repair and overhaul,
Clean and maintain aircraft in flight ready condition at base & in the field.
• Field travel will be required.
• Ability to use computer databases to track on-going maintenance.

Qualifications/Licenses
• FAA A&P Certificate issued at least 24 months prior to application date.
