Job Description

 As Chief Instructor your duties will be but not limited to:
  • Provide quality flight and ground instruction, support students, certify training records, graduation certificates and stage checks for Part 141 and 61

  • Ensure that CFIs are proficient and pass proficiency checks every 12 months

  • Ensure compliance for Safety Management System (SMS) and compliance for Standard Operations Guidelines with Part 141 programs 

  • Must complete annual and bi-annual flight reviews

  • Must be a motivated, professional and possess’ strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Customer/student and safety satisfaction will be the top priority

  • Ensure that CFIs are proficient and pass proficiency checks every 12 months

  • Must be a motivated, professional and possess’ strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Oversee day to day operations of the flight training such as
    • Clean Aircraft 
    • Take payments for sales as needed
    • Assist in marketing and other assigned tasks
    • Assist in recruiting new students

Job Requirements

  • Commercial Pilot or ATP certificate with appropriate aircraft category, class and instrument rating

  • Current Flight Instructor certificate

  • Meet PIC recent flight experience requirements

  • Pass knowledge test on

    • Teaching methods

    • Applicable provisions of the “Aeronautical Information Manual”

    • Applicable provisions of part 61, 91 and 141

    • Objectives and approved course completion standards of the course for which the person seeks to obtain designation

  • Pass proficiency test on flight procedures and maneuvers

  • Meet all applicable requirements

For a course of training leading to the issuance of a recreational or private pilot certificate or rating

  • At least 1,000 hours as PIC

  • Flight training experience consisting of at least

    • 2 years and 500 flight hours or

    • 1,000 flight hours

For a course of training leading to the issuance of an instrument rating or a rating with instrument privileges

  • At least 100 hours flight time under instrument conditions

  • At least 1,000 hours as PIC

  • Instrument flight instructor experience consisting of at least

    • 2 year and 250 flight hours or

    • 400 flight hours

For a course of training other than one leading to the issuance of a recreational or private pilot certificate or rating or an instrument rating or a rating with instrument privileges

  • At least 2,000 hours as PIC

  • Flight training experience

    • 3 years and total of 1,000 flight hours or

    • 1,500 flight hours

Eligibility for designation for a ground school course

  • 1 year experience as ground school instructor at a certificated pilot school


Other requirements

  • SFAR 73 requirements met

  • Current in the R-22, R-44 and R-66

  • Must complete a flight and ground review prior to being hires

  • Valid driver's license

  • Birth certificate or Passport

  • Current 2nd class medical

  • Robinson Safety Course
