Job Description

Hampton Roads Helicopters offers premier flight instruction services, tours, charters and more. We are a Robinson Helicopter Dealer and Service Center, as well as a Part 135 Charter operator. We are co-located with our sister company, Hampton Roads Charter Service, where we also provide aircraft management and pilot services for a fleet of Citation jets. All of our aircraft are clean, well maintained, and well equipped. We are based at the Hampton Roads Airport (KPVG) in Chesapeake VA.

Position Overview:

  • Full-time helicopter instructor and pilot for Hampton Roads Helicopters, based out of KPVG, flying the Robinson R-22 Beta II/R-44 Raven II

  • Flying duties include Private thru CFII part 61 instruction, aerial tours, aerial photography, special events, Pt 135 charters*, and more

  • Hourly pay for general office/hanger duties (guaranteed at least 40 hrs weekly), and higher pay rate for flying/ground instruction duties. Exact pay rate determined by experience.

HRH Offers the opportunity to fly our fleet of extremely well maintained and equipped helicopters, with many unique opportunities. Part 135 Certification, nationwide ferry flying, occasional Turbine opportunities, and heavily discounted rates on personal use of company aircraft (including limited fixed-wing options) are all potentials here at HRH. We are a tight-knit, laid back company that focuses on long term enrichment, not cycling through ‘time builders’. Scheduling is extremely flexible, and often self-created. Experience permitting, opportunities may also be possible for additional airplane pilot employment, if desired.
Job Requirements
This is unfortunately not a position for brand-new instructors/pilots. We look for experienced instructors, and pay accordingly. Our goal is to offer a great quality of life in every aspect for an experienced instructor who enjoys teaching, and wants to teach long-term. We fly nice aircraft, we don't overload schedules, and we get to do lots of other exciting flying other than just instruction.

Requirements:

  • 500 Hours Minimum Helicopter Time

  • 100 Hours of Dual-Given in Robinson Helicopters - This is not flexible

  • Helicopter CFI / CFII with R-22 and R-44 SFAR 73 Authorized Instructor Endorsements

  • US Citizen, DOT Random Drug Test Program, 2nd Class Medical

  • Availability during normal business hours and after-hours (scheduled in advance)

Prefer:

  • Attendance at Robinson Helicopter Factory Safety Course

  • 250+ Hrs Dual Given in Helicopters with passing checkride endorsements
