Job Description

The Contract & Charter Division
Hillsboro Aviation’s contract & charter division specializes in utility, executive charter, tours and excursions, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our utility focus includes natural resources, aerial survey, firefighting, construction, film/photo/news, and heli-skiing. We have flown over 1.2 million hours and conducted missions ranging from firefighting to oil exploration and LiDAR to agriculture. Our fleet is comprised of the Bell 205A1++, Bell 407, Airbus AS350B3e, Bell 206, and Beechcraft King Air series.

The Position

Perform in wildland fire fighting operations in a B205A1++. May assist in other projects or other duties as assigned. This position will cover a CWN or an Exclusive Use contract in a B205A1++ for the 2023 fire season. If on a CWN contract, a guaranteed number of work days will be agreed upon and paid as a salary throughout the season.

Job Responsibilities

The pilot will cover the assigned aircraft during the summer season (starting mid May - exact dates tbd) initially out of Hillsboro, OR.

Travel, accommodation and per diem are covered by Hillsboro Aviation. The USFS and DOI contracts will be operated on a 12 on 2 off or 12 on 12 off schedule. Other utility operations will be scheduled to meet the needs of the project. If operated on a 12 on 2 off schedule, occasionally longer breaks to travel back home may be arranged based on helicopter operations and relief pilot availability.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Licenses
• COM or ATP certificate with Rotorcraft Helicopter Rating
• Current class 1 or 2 medical
• Current driver license with clean driving record
• Able to legally work in the U.S.

Required Skills/Experience
• 2500 hours RW PIC of which 100 hours in B205 (or similar)
• 250 hours of vertical reference experience of which 50 hours in B205 (or similar)
• Must meet interagency carding requirements for 2023 (or be eligible for interagency waiver)
• Minimum 10 hours of B205A++ PIC within the past 12 months

Preferred Skills/Experience
• Recent flight and vertical reference time in B205A1++ within the last 12 months
• Current interagency card listing B205 (or similar)
• Additional experience in B407/AS350 and/or B206
• Instrument rating
• Current passport
