Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

 
Helicopter Institute is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as an Airframe and

Powerplant Mechanic. This position represents Helicopter Institute in a positive and professional manner. This role is primarily responsible for providing aviation maintenance support to a diverse fleet of training helicopters to a top-notch standard.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on helicopters

 Support operations by movement of aircraft, facilitating refueling, and servicing fluids

 Provide appropriate assistance as necessary to ensure good customer relations with crew

members and clientele

 Park and store or properly secure all parked aircraft at all times

 Service aircraft with all supplies and materials, which may be required by the aircraft

 Maintain, clean and organize ramp, hangars and facilities keeping all free of debris and clutter

 Operate vehicular (golf cart, tugs, HeliWagons, fork lift, etc.)

 General cleaning of aircraft as needed or requested

 Initiating emergency response procedures when required

 Occasionally perform various lawn care and janitorial services to ensure a pleasant and clean work environment

 Contribute and participate in any customer appreciation and promotional events, such as

birthdays or anniversaries

 Comply with all airport authority rules and regulations including AOA operations and airport security requirements.

 Participate in continuous training including AOPA programs and company designed curriculum

 Other duties as assigned


SCHEDULE

Successful candidate will need a flexible schedule as dictated by aircraft schedules

Job Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 A&P Certificate

 Previous experience maintaining helicopters

 Preferred experience with Airbus, Bell, and/or MD Helicopters

 Proficient with aircraft logbook write ups after performing maintenance

 Ability to comprehend and perform basic math calculations with minimal errors

 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook)

 Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment

 Previous aviation experience desired

 
 

REQUIRED SKILLS

 Strong working knowledge of aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, customer service principles, and the Helicopter Institute service philosophy

 Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills are necessary to perform job at the expected

level

 Must have a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

 Successful candidate must be able to respond calmly and handle many demands in a fast-paced environment

 Ability to work in a team atmosphere to anticipate clientele or crew member needs or to resolve problems quickly

 Candidate should work well in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to the changing needs of the business

 Must maintain a valid state driver’s license
