Job Description
Immediate opening for highly experienced A&P Technician – BK117D2 H145 Exciting Remote Locations and Southern California area.  This is an exciting and unique opportunity for the right individual.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for following the planned maintenance program and consistently monitoring the company helicopters to ensure they are maintained in airworthy condition.
  • Perform helicopter troubleshooting, maintenance and repair in a timely and professional manner utilizing all available resources.
  • Maintains a constructive working relationship with manufacturer’s representatives, parts supply houses, repair facilities and the FAA.
  • Observe service level expectations of vendors and contracted staff and ensure policies are followed.
  • Provide vendor performance assessment and suggest quality improvement measures.
  • Ensures compliance with airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and service letters.
  • Ensures that all inspections, repairs, and component changes are accomplished in accordance with manufacturers and/or FAA-approved procedures.
  • Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs as necessary or appropriate in accordance with best practices.
  • Commitment to collaboration and responsible for proactive timely, clear and efficient communication that will allow effective problem solving and decision making.
  • Performs regular cleaning of the helicopter and its hangar.
  • Assists helicopter passengers in any appropriate manner.
  • Reconfigures helicopter seats as necessary for flights, cargo and passenger transfer.
  • Assists movement of the helicopter in and out of the hangar, including meeting the arriving helicopter and dispatching the departing helicopter.
  • Assists with refueling the company helicopter.
  • Performs sampling of helicopter fuel for water and contaminants.
  • Ensures that all test equipment is calibrated and maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications
  • Valid and Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required and Inspection Authorization preferred.
  • Completed manufacturer’s training in Airbus BK117D2 preferred.
  • Practical experience as an active helicopter and avionics technician with substantial experience in maintaining and repairing helicopters similar to the company helicopter.
  • Adaptable with an ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a dynamic and migratory environment.
  • Valid driver's license and passport permitting substantial and frequent domestic and international travel.
  • Prepared to work a flexible schedule including 24/7 on-call rotations, weekends and holidays.
  • Exemplary adherence to the highest privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Desire to achieve the highest level of customer/client service and response.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (orally and in writing) with non-technical personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly and accurately with diligence and excellent attention to detail.
  • Well-motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and with others as circumstances dictate.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills, including as applied in interactions with company principals and other helicopter passengers.
  • Resourceful and collegial team-player.
  • Proficient in a computerized environment to include Microsoft Office Suite, web-based maintenance systems, internet, etc.
  • Minimum ten (5) years twin turbine-powered helicopter experience required.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate scheduled and preventative maintenance and forecast aircraft downtime in coordination with the senior director of maintenance.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, sitting, twisting and kneeling.
  • Transport/lift helicopter equipment.
  • Hand manipulation including simple grasping, power grasping, pushing and pulling of materials and fine manipulation.
  • Work above and below the shoulder level is frequently performed.
  • Comfortable working in shipboard operations in open ocean for extended periods of time.
  • Work outside in varying temperatures.
