Job Description
Reports to: General Manager of Operations, COO
Job Summary: 
LifeSave's Director of Maintenance is responsible for the safety and readiness of all aircraft operated by the company as well as the daily operations of the Maintenance Department.  The Director of Maintenance also ensures that all company maintenance personnel operate in a standardized manner and in accordance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and the LifeSave General Operations Manual. 
Summary of Essential Job Functions: 
  • Ensures LifeSave aircraft are maintained safely and efficiently per established company policies, federal and local regulations, as well as manufacturer recommendations
  • Oversees, trains, and assists Fixed Wing and Rotor Wing Lead Mechanics
  • Works directly with the General Manager of Operations on aircraft status, maintenance scheduling, and other maintenance operations
  • Schedules maintenance personnel hours to maintain efficient operations of the department
  • Maintains a working relationship with manufacturers and other parts/supply vendors
  • Performs other duties as required
Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 
  • In accordance with 119.71, to serve as Director of Maintenance under 119.69, a person must hold a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings and have either: 
    • Three years of experience within the last six years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including, at the time of appointment as Director of Maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses  
    • Have three years of experience within the past six years repairing aircraft in a certificated airframe repair station, including one year in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service 
Additional Requirements Include: 
  • Experience maintaining Beechcraft King Air and Bell 206/407 airframes
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or Aviation Maintenance Management (preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in Aviation Maintenance Management or Associate Degree with 3-4 years of experience in Aviation Maintenance Management
  • Experience managing daily aircraft maintenance operations  
  • Intimate knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Ability to gain an understanding of LifeSave's General Operations Manual and make recommendations for updates and changes
  • Execution of duties to meet legal requirements and maintain safe operation
  • Close liaison with the Director of Operations and FAA on maintenance matters
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check  and pre-employment drug screen
