Job Description
The OAS Western Region employs a team of inspectors to conduct inspections of diverse types of natural resource and wildland fire rotary wing pilot evaluations throughout the 11 western U.S. states to ensure safety and contract compliance. The incumbent is responsible for administering flight checks in rotor wing aircraft for the purpose of issuing/withdrawing authorization cards for mission specific applications.
This is a permanent, full-time, career/career conditional appointment.

Job Requirements

1. 1500 hours total pilot time

2. 1200 hours of Pilot in Command time in rotor wing aircraft (24 hours PIC within the last 12 months, including 6 hours in the last 6 months)

3. 25 flight hours night flying in rotor wing aircraft

4. 100 flight hours turbine powered rotor wing aircraft

5. You must possess current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with rotorcraft-helicopter ratings;

6. FAA Certified Flight Instructor-Helicopter or Military Equivalent- Must possess a CFI at time of employment or qualified and willing to obtain CFI within 6 months of entry of employment. Note: CFI must be obtained within 6 months of employment or candidate will be found ineligible for position and terminated.

7. Current Class II Medical Certificate.
