Safari Helicopters is a well established FAA Part 133 and Part 135 Air Carrier performing helicopter charters and tours of the Hawaiian Islands.
We currently have an opening for an FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant Technician (A&P) for our Lihue - Kauai, Hawaii base. Before applying please self-research the relocation and housing needs you would require to reside on island.
Qualified applicants must have a minimum of 5 years A&P technician experience or a greater military equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years Airbus Helicopters H125/H130 (Eurocopter AS350, EC130) field maintenance experience. Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements.
Job duties will include but are not limited to: General helicopter upkeep, corrosion control, performing periodic inspections and various repairs requiring return to service documentation on a daily basis. In addition applicants should be versed in dynamic component replacements, electrical, hydraulic and powertrain systems troubleshooting, flight control repairs and rigging, dynamic rotors smoothing, airframe structures repairs and aircraft ground handling. Must be available to accompany check flights after significant maintenance.
Must be willing to be listed on DOT random drug screening program, and must be able to pass an intensive Federal background check required to work on the Airport Operations Area. Must be able to lift 50lbs. without issue and must be able to work for extended periods of time on ladders and scaffolds and work standing for long durations. Most work will occur in the evening hours. PC and web-based applications proficiency is a must.
