Founded in 1980, Hillsboro Aviation offers complete helicopter and airplane services comprised of five divisions: contract & charter, aircraft sales & management, service center, FBO, and parts sales. Serving domestic and international markets in the government, commercial, and private sectors, we have over 85 employees and 13 turbine aircraft. We operate out of our award-winning headquarters at the Portland-Hillsboro Airport (KHIO).

The Position

Hillsboro Aviation’s contract & charter division specializes in utility, executive charter, tours and excursions, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our utility focus includes natural resources, aerial survey, firefighting, construction, and heli-skiing. We have flown over 1.2 million hours and conducted missions
ranging from firefighting to oil exploration and LiDAR to agriculture. Our executive charter and tours/excursions services offer an unparalleled customer experience and our UAS services are on the cutting-edge of the emerging market.

Hillsboro Aviation’s aircraft sales and management division provides expert services to a global audience. With over 1,000 aircraft sold, we specialize in new and used helicopter and airplane sales, with additional brokerage, acquisition, leasing, maintenance, and pilot services. We are the exclusive US sales consultant for Airbus Helicopters, a dealer for the Robinson Helicopter Company, and specialize in the sale of pre-owned aircraft.

As the Director of Business Development – Helicopter Charter and Sales, you will join our senior management team to promote Hillsboro Aviation’s helicopter contract and charter division and aircraft sales and management division capabilities to new and existing customers. This position works closely with the management team to promote our current services as well as develop new programs and offerings in areas that we do not currently operate in.

Focus on business development of non firefighting, utility helicopter operations and develop and execute aircraft sales strategies, both domestic and international. You will report to the Vice President/COO and will be responsible for business development including but not limited to:

· Helicopter contract and charter

· New and used helicopter sales and management

Job Requirements
Job Responsibilities

· Prospect new customers

· Act as project manager for newly-developed customers/contracts

· Prepare and submit reports including detailed customer prospect contacts and plans for upcoming sales activities

· Maintain accurate records of customer interaction and sales funnel opportunities within company CRM system

· Work with marketing to develop strategic marketing plans

· Work with the senior management team in development and achievement of short and long-term company goals and objectives

· Travel as necessary for customer visits, tradeshows, and operational support

 

Qualifications/Licenses

· University/College Degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

· Must possess a US Passport and valid US driver’s license

 

Required Skills/Experience

· Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.

· Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent in education and experience.

· Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to prepare and effectively deliver presentations.

· Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities & projects simultaneously.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

· Master’s degree and/or equivalent in experience relevant to the position

· FAA Commercial pilot rotorcraft helicopter license with current Class II medical certificate.

· Prior experience working as commercial pilot.

· Extra consideration will be given to candidates possessing either specific regional and/or market segment expertise.
