The Chief Pilot (CP) works closely with and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The Chief Pilot is required to manage the company’s flight operations (primarily pilots) under both FAR Part 91 and Part 135. The Chief Pilot must meet 14 CFR 119 (d) (1) or (2) requirements:
(1) In the case of a person becoming a Chief Pilot for the first time ever, have at least 3 years experience, within the past 6 years, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or part 135 of this chapter.
(2) In the case of a person with previous experience as a Chief Pilot, have at least 3 years experience as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or part 135 of this chapter.
Additional Requirements
- Commercial Helicopter Pilot w/Instrument or Airline Transport Pilot - Rotorcraft Helicopter rating
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Rotorcraft - Helicopter
- Mustbe qualified to serve as pilot in command in at least one of the following aircraft, AS-350, A-109, S-76
- Experience with comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2,000 hours PIC helicopter including- 1,000 Turbine, 200 hours twin engine, 100 hours unaided night hours
- Preferred operational experience in Sikorsky S76, Agusta A109, Airbus AS355, AirbusAS350, EC130 helicopters
- Preferred experience with Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA), Charter, and Electronic News Gathering (ENG)
- 3 or more years FAR 135 experience
- Possess current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Competence in Microsoft Office, Excel applications and PDF files
