Job Description
We are looking for a full-time CFI/II who enjoys the challenge to further grow our establishment by providing the best possible helicopter pilot training and commercial flight services in the capital city of Florida. Tallahassee Helicopters is a professional helicopter pilot academy and helicopter flight services company in Tallahassee, Florida operating Robinson R44 helicopters.
 

As a CFI/II for our company you will assume primarily the following duties & responsibilities:

  • Provide basic and advanced (including instrument) helicopter flight and ground instruction
  • Evaluate, communicate, and document training progress of students
  • Conduct commercial flights under part 91 like sightseeing tours, aerial video and photography, news gathering, and powerline/pipeline surveys
  • Assist with the recruitment of new students 
  • Perform light office/administrative duties such as answering/making phone calls and emails, maintaining documents and records, scheduling flights, and helping to keep the office, aircrafts, and hangar tidy.
Job Requirements

The successful candidate will be an energetic, enthusiastic, and mature individual who works well with others and on his/her own. He/she will focus on safety, has excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent people skills, is self-sufficient, organized, holds a first or second class medical, and meets the following minimum pilot qualifications:

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument Helicopter Ratings
  • FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument Helicopter Ratings
  • SFAR 73 Endorsement to instruct on the R44
  • At least 400 hours total helicopter time including ...
    • at least 50 hours in the R44
    • at least 100 hours dual given
    • at least 100 hours of cross-country including at least 25 hours at night
  • RHC Safety Course completed within the past 5 years
