Utility Helicopter Pilot — Full Time

Core operations include powerline construction and maintenance, human external cargo (HEC), precision external load, and interagency firefighting support.

Position Summary

Immediate openings are available for Utility Pilots supporting powerline construction, HEC, and interagency fire operations. The ideal applicant would have a strong desire to fill a position as a Bell 407 interagency firefighting pilot during the 2026 season.

Split schedules are offered for experienced pilots. Candidates with powerline construction, HEC, and interagency fire experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation

  • Pay scale based on experience
  • $55 to $110 per hour (based on split schedule, plus flight pay)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate
  • Class 2 Medical Certificate
  • 1,500 hours helicopter PIC
  • 500 hours turbine helicopter
  • 200 hours mountain flying
  • 100 hours cross country
  • 100 hours in the last 12 months
  • 50 hours Bell 407
  • 25 hours night cross country
  • Positive attitude with strong work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desired Experience

  • 2500 hours helicopter PIC
  • Carded or previously carded in Bell 407
  • Powerline construction
  • Human external cargo (HEC)
  • Previous or current PG&E HEC qualification
  • Bell 407 experience
  • Bell 205 experience
  • Bell 212 experience
