The Contract & Charter Division
Hillsboro Aviation’s contract & charter division provides services to the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Department of Interior (DOI), the Department of Defense (DoD), large national utility (powerline & infrastructure) and high-tech companies as well as smaller customers and individuals. The missions are ranging from Search and Rescue, Short Haul (Human External Cargo), construction support, firefighting, natural resource surveys, film/photo/news flights to Heli-Skiing. Our fleet is comprised of Bell 205A1++, Bell 407, Bell 407HP, Airbus AS350B3e, Bell 206, and Beechcraft King Air series.

Founded in 1980, Hillsboro Aviation offers complete helicopter and airplane services comprised of five divisions: contract & charter, aircraft sales & management, service center, FBO, and parts sales. Serving domestic and international markets in the government, commercial, and private sectors, we have over 85 employees and 14 turbine aircraft. Our new headquarter is located at the Portland-Hillsboro Airport (KHIO).
The scope of the initial contract(s) depend on your previous experience. Carded pilots can expect assignments to Exclusive Use contracts. Pilots newly carded through Hillsboro Aviation can expect to cover CWN fire contracts and USGS contracts. Pilots not yet carded can expect the assignments to utility / survey contracts. Work ethic, availability and scheduling flexibility are important factors to your success – for everything else, there is training available.
