Job Description

Survival Flight is seeking a full-time Field Maintenance Manager to be based in Batesville, AR. The Field Maintenance Manager is responsible for the administration and direction of aircraft maintenance activities and Aviation Mechanics for Survival Flight in order to comply with FAA and Part 135 air carrier requirements.


  • Communicating and coordinating with the Director of Maintenance and Aviation Mechanics the scheduling of maintenance
  • Coordinating and approving the scheduling of the assigned Aviation Mechanics time off and vacations to ensure every base has maintenance coverage
  • Coordinating technical and logistical support including being on call after hours
  • Review and approve materials requested by the Aviation Mechanics
  • Ensure all maintenance is documented and performed in accordance with Survival Flight policies and Title 14 CFR Regulations as applicable
  • Perform base audits at each assigned base at a minimum of annually

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of Aviation Science trade or vocational school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P)
  • 2 years experience with Bell 206L4 and 407 helicopters
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Must possess the ability to take initiative and follow up on all matters regarding the aircraft
  • Must have effective communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in highly stressful situations
  • Intermediate computer skills including but not limited to: MS Office, Internet Explorer and email
  • Applicant must be able to walk, stoop, climb, twist, bend, sit, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and move materials up to 80 lbs. without assistance. Applicant must remain eligible to perform in a FAA safety sensitive position at all times

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience working for EMS helicopter program
  • 3 - 5 years supervisory experience
  • Inspection Authorization Certification
