Job Description
An Assistant Chief Pilot is needed for Metro Aviation, Inc. based in Shreveport, LA. The Assistant Chief Pilot is the direct Supervisor for the Operational Control Center, Technical Publications group, and assists in the development, distribution, and compliance of flight operations policy and procedures. Job Requirements
• Total Flight Time = 2,000 hours
• Total Pilot-In-Command = 1,000 hours PIC Rotorcraft.
• Cross Country Flight Time= 500 hours
• Night Flight Time= 100 hours, including 50 hours night unaided
• Instrument Flight Time= 75 hours (50 in flight).
• Turbine Helicopter = 500 hours
• 5 years of experience in Part 135 operations
Previous Part 135 management experience preferred
Previous Air Medical experience preferred
 
Job Responsibilities
• Assisting in the development, distribution and compliance of flight operations policy, procedures, and Part 135 guidance materials;
• If designated, providing Operational Control for flight operations in accordance with Metro Aviation’s GOM;
• As requested by the Chief Pilots, creates and distributes department reports;
• Assists in pilot recruiting activities as directed;
• Supports the Training Department as directed by the Chief Pilots;
• Maintaining Part 135 qualification in at least one aircraft type listed in Operations Specification A003. This requirement may be waived by the Director of Operations;
• Responsible for all budgetary, operational, and personnel functions of the Operations Control Center;
• Directing the Operational Control Center Managers and Technical Publication Manager;
• Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
FAA Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft Certificate and Instrument Helicopter Rating (Airline Transport Pilot Rotorcraft Preferred)
• FAA 2nd Class Medical (1st Class required as some locations)
 
Rotor Wing Desired Experience
• Air Medical operations
• Single Pilot IFR operations
• Night Vision Goggle operations
