Island Helicopters Kauai, Inc. is seeking an experienced A&P Helicopter Mechanic to provide aircraft maintenance on the island of Kauai. Qualified applicants interested in working with Island Helicopters’ fleet of Airbus AS-350 (AStar) aircraft out of their new hangar facility at the Lihue Heliport, are encouraged to apply. Relocation assistance is available.

The A&P Mechanic Position Responsibilities: 
  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on company’s fleet of aircrafts.
  • Have exceptional communication skills with operations, pilots and fellow maintenance team members.
  • Comply with FAA and Island Helicopters’ policies, procedures, expectations and regulations.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 65 pounds without assistance.
  • Perform high quality maintenance by use of proper procedures, tools, communication, documentation, and skills.
  • Keep facilities, equipment, and aircraft in clean and orderly condition.
  • Ability to use reference materials such as manufacturer and maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Responsible for keeping records of maintenance performed, adhering to FAA and company, regulations, policy and procedures (including Part 135).
Job Requirements

The A&P Mechanic Position Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Experience maintaining AS350-B2 helicopters is preferred.
  • Schedule consists of mainly day shifts but must have the ability to work on occasional evenings.
  • Willing and able to work some holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must currently live on, or be able to relocate to the island of Kauai (relocation/housing assistance available).
  • Must be a United States citizen or have valid permission to work in the U.S.
  • Drug test and background check are required.
