Job Description

Ø Chief Pilot, Part 135 helicopter passenger/cargo

Ø Chief Instructor, Part 141

Ø Part 135 VFR PIC in Robinson R44 helicopters

Ø 91.147 Commercial Air Tours Full time

Job Requirements

Required Minimum Flight Experience

Ø 2,000+ hours PIC helicopter

Ø 1,500 hours flight instruction given

Ø 200 hours instruction given in Robinson helicopters

Ø 200 hours PIC in R44 helicopters 200 hours PIC in R22 helicopters 100 hours cross-country flight (point-to-point, no minimum distance)

Ø 100 hours actual or simulated instrument

Ø 25 hours of night cross-country flight (point-to-point, no minimum distance)

Ø 50 hours flight time in the last 12 months

Ø 400 instrument instruction given or 2 years as instrument instructor with 250 instrument instruction given (preferred)

Ø Proficient in full-down autorotations

Ø Required Certificates, Ratings and Experience

Ø Bachelor’s degree preferred

Ø FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (ATP preferred)

Ø Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument-Helicopter ratings

Ø FAA 2nd class medical

Ø Meet the requirements of Part 119.71(d)

Ø Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Job Functions

Chief Pilot reports directly to the Director of Operations

Conduct crewmember training and standardization for Part 135 company pilots as well as manage and keep current the associated training programs, materials and training records

Manage the Flight Department, including upkeep of company pilot records, pilot assignments and schedules

Coordinate with Director of Maintenance on aircraft scheduling to accommodate maintenance requirements

Communicate with local FSDO regarding issues related to certificate management

Maintain company controlled documents

 Exercise operational control duties for the company

Ensure flight operations are conducted safely and in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and company policy and procedure.

Perform student stage checks, oversee the quality of student pilot training and maintain student pilot records in accordance with Part 141

Act as PIC for company flights as needed

Must have a very strong understanding of applicable FARs with respect to certificate management.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
