Golden Wings Aviation needs pilots this summer for its cherry-drying operation in central Washington State. We operate the Sikorsky S-55 piston and turbine-conversion helicopter. PIC's should have 1,000 hours. We prefer pilots with piston-engine, throttle-twisting experience, especially in aircraft without governors (e.g. Bell 47, Hughes 300, Enstrom). The two-month long job starts on June 1st. You will need a current medical and a current BFR.
This is a “continuous duty” type of thing. You'll be on stand-by to fly every day. Total flight time will depend on how much rain we get. We'll put you up in company housing. Transportation to and from Brewster, Washington, as well as around the local area, is on you. Send us a resume. If we call you we'll talk about pay.
We also have openings for SIC's. The S-55 is a single-pilot helicopter. However, if you don't meet the insurance minimums, you might want to come up anyway to fly as a “copilot.” This is an unpaid position. Like the PIC's, we will put you up. However, since lodging can be considered “compensation,” you must have a R/W Commercial Rating. We'll assign you to an aircraft and you will assist the PIC in conducting the job, and in that way gain valuable experience in commercial ops. You will fly as much as the PIC allows. When you fly, you can log PIC time.
