Job Description

Qualifications - The DOM reports directly to the General Manager/Director of Operations and supervises all maintenance and inspections of 3 company helicopters.

  • FAA A&P Certificate with 5 years of FAR 135 helicopter maintenance experience.  
  • Minimum of five years single engine turbine helicopter maintenance experience.    Prefer prior military experience with leadership training and or experience as maintenance lead or QA inspector.
  • At least one year in the role of returning aircraft to service.
  • Must meet the requirements of FAR 119.71(e) for FAR 135

Key Duties and Responsiblities:

  • Responsible for the specific duties listed in the company FAR 135 General Operations Manual.
  • Create a training program for maintenance technicians to assure they are qualified prior to assigning them to any maintenance function.
  • Make available to all as requested:  Current maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and all other required technical data.
  • Assure that all required work records are properly documented by the responsible mechanic or repair station.
  • Maintain the all repair facility areas in a hazard free, clean orderly manner.
  • Manage aircraft maintenance activities including overhaul, modifications, maintenance and repair of aircraft structure, engines and all accessories.
  • Coordinates with maintenance contracting agencies and purchasing agents when maintenance activities are being performed on company aircraft.
  • Forecast expenses and track orders of parts, lubricants, while ensuring there is no aircraft down time for these requirements.
  • Daily communication with DO/CP to provide current aircraft status.
  • Daily communication with DO/CP to schedule maintenance down time.
  • Maintain and modify weight and balance records of the aircraft as required.
  • Determine maintenance personnel requirements based on present and projected workloads.
  • Ensures all aircraft are checked daily IAW ICA spreadsheet and overall airworthiness status.
  • Assure that both MRR and MIS reports required by FAR 135 are submitted.
  • Serve as a member of the company safety committee.
  • Other duties as directed. May delegate functions to other personnel, but always retains responsibility.


Job Requirements
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Lives within one hour of Rome NY. 
  • Above average skills with Microsoft Office Suite and written communications.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
