Organ Mountain Aviation Company (OMAC) is seeking an experienced Helicopter A&P Mechanic to join our maintenance team working to maintain our fleet of 4 Bell Jet Ranger helicopters each flying 500 to 600 hours a year. The primary focus of this position is field maintenance on the aircraft. This position would require travel and frequent short, long duration trips in support of on-going LaSen contractual requirements from our Albuquerque Maintenance Base.

Job Duties:

Inspection and repair of helicopter and components to be maintained with the highest standards of the FAA FAR's, manufacturer's programs, and Organ Mountain Aviation Company’s Maintenance Procedures Manual. Routinely perform 100, 300, 600 & 1200 Hour inspections as well as other scheduled and unscheduled maintenance items without supervision is required. Removal, re-installation and replacement of major components such as main rotor and tail rotor blades, main rotor and tail rotor hub assemblies, main transmissions, tail rotor gear boxes, main rotor and tail rotor hub assemblies, engine, engine modules, engine accessories, main & tail rotor track and balance. Use computer databases and software programs to track on-going maintenance. Extensive Field travel will be required. The ability to travel overnight on trips with stays up to 28 days. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays is required. Travel requirement is 150 days or more per year.

Qualifications/Licenses:

FAA A&P Certificate. (Issued at least 24 months prior to application date Preferred)

Driver’s license with good driving record.

Pass pre-employment and ongoing Drug testing.

Pass pre-employment Background check.

Required Skills/Experience:

Helicopter maintenance experience. (Prior USFS mechanic card for the Bell 206 helpful)

At least 24 months experience as an A&P mechanic maintaining helicopters (helpful)

Experience maintaining a helicopter away from an operator’s principle base of operations. (helpful)

Prior Military Aviation Experience (helpful)

Applicant must have their own Basic hand tools and they must be shadowed boarded within 2 months of employment.

High quality standard with attention to detail.

The ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Willingness to work in a high-paced environment, the ability to multitask, excellent customer service.

Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. on a daily basis.

Have the ability to ride in light helicopters without encountering motion sickness.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience with Bell 206B & L models.

High quality standard with attention to detail.

Documented Bell or Rolls Royce factory training on any of the above-mentioned airframes and/or engine training

Compensation:

The Starting Salary/ Pay is 48-72k depending on experience.

Per diem paid based on GSA rates., Company Credit Card to be used for company expenditures during travel. 401k, Health, PTO, Small moving allowance. Possible Bell or Rolls Royce school after 1 year of employment.
