The Avionics Technician / A&P reports directly to the Base Maintenance Manager. This position assists the Avionics department and maintenance team in maintaining aircraft avionics systems, electronic systems and video systems. This position also provides for an additional A&P maintenance team member when needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
Inspect, test, adjust and repair avionics equipment, including, radio, navigation, autopilot, compass and instrument systemsTransponder and pitot static system certifications in accordance with FAA regulations.Install and maintain avionics and electrical equipment.Install troubleshoot and repair air-conditioning components and electrical master control boxes.Install, troubleshoot and repair aircraft intercom systems.Install, troubleshoot and repair audio/video recording systems.Inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical and electronics systems.Assist aircraft mechanics with assigned tasks as required.Repairman duties as delineated in company’s FAA approved Inspection Procedure Manual.Responds to technical inquires and provides assistance and advice to base mechanics during normal work hours and on an on-call basis.Serve as an A&P technician when needed.Maintains the upkeep of the work area.Performs other duties as required.
